ABOUT THE SCHOOL

The long cherished vision of the Great philanthropist, Padmavibushan Shriyut G. D. Birla to awaken the people of the area especially the girls by lifting the veils of illiteracy came into existence with the establishment of Birla Shishu Vihar, Pilani in 1953 with two rooms, one teacher and 25 students. Gradually the school was upgraded to class II and then class V to facilitate the primary education of wards of BET and BITS employees. A dedicated and hardworking team of teachers soon put the school in formidable position and the school became quite popular in the town. By the start of new millennium Birla Shishu Vihar has earned a reputation of being the premier English medium school of the area. The parents from neighbouring cities/towns have also started flocking in to let their child alma mater of this prestigious temple of learning. Considering the popularity of the school, the management recommended for the up-gradation of the school which the Trustees immediately accepted. In 2001 class VI was started in the school and subsequently the school was affiliated to Secondary level with the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) in 2005. After that there was no looking back and today the school is a Senior Secondary Day school with ever blooming strength

GENERAL FEATURES

Birla Shishu Vihar is run under the aegis of Birla Education Trust, Pilani. It is a Co-educational English medium school from UKG to class XII under the CBSE scheme. The school is not limited to academic excellence but it gives equal emphasis on co-curricular & extra curricular activities and holistic development of a student.

Birla Shishu Vihar, the pristine educational institution, is located in the education hub, Pilani, Rajasthan. Here the nature has lavished the best of her charms. The school building is built on 3.5 acre of land, with IT enabled classrooms with multimedia projectors, well equipped Audio Visual Room, Mathematics Lab., Science labs for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Science Lab., special activity rooms for music, dance and art and craft. Library with 9000 books, magazines and journals on various topics and 20 KINDLES for E-reading. Three computer and E-Labs with internet connectivity. In addition to this the school has vast expanses of playground over 3.5 acres of land where sports facilities viz. hockey, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table-tennis, carrom, cricket, taekwondo are available.
