Annual Day Function Celebration and Prize Distribution 2017-18
To kick start the celebrations the School hosted on Exhibition. SPECTRUM. The exhibition had many sections to interest the guests and parents. The spectacular Art Gallery featured the professionally framed art work of every child. Each painting was rendered Carefully and lovingly without the slightest trace of sloppiness. Another interesting section of SPECTRUM was the Science Corner. Children had poured variety of inventiveness which gathered accolades from every nook and corner. Literature Fest was yet another first-of-its-kind which showcased and encouraged the shining stars of BSV. Featuring an eclectic mix of poets and dramatists, the Fest was a sincere endeavour of the School to spread love of reading and learning with innovative events. The journey of Tom Alter - a documentary film chronicled the history of Tom Alter. The Film directed by the students of class eleven took the audience on an intimate journey of the great artist from his early years all the Way to his latest memorable movies. It also featured rare interviews and excerpts from his most renowned works.
A talk show with Tom Alter marked the closing of the afternoon show. The show allowed around 4OO Students from BET schools to interact with him. An hour long session with Mr. Alter inspired the students on theatre skills. He suggested kids to identify their core Competencies and interests so that they Can opt for their Careers in future. The evening show EXPRESSIONS began with the mellifluous vocal and instrumental music brought alive by the school choir. It was on evening full of music, dance and drama wherein the students celebrated their 64 Annual Day with great zeal, pomp and show. The Fun Filled regalia began with acts and performances commemorating social issues like Saving nature, non-violence, natural disasters etc. The students were honoured with prizes for various academic and non-academic activities. The school Annual Report was presented by the Principal Mr. Pavan Vashishtha which traced the long strides and significant progress made during the last year by BSV.
The Director, BET Maj. Gen. S.S. Nair AVSM (Retd.) addressed the gathering with his views on Futuristic vision and conveyed the necessity of defining one's goal in life and encouraged the students with challenging words. He said that Birla Shishu Vihar has progressed by leaps and bounds and there is no doubt that it will become one of the Finest Schools of the country. He also Congratulated the entire BSV family for putting up such a Flawless and aesthetically appealing show.
The Chief Guest Mr. Tom Alter while addressing the audience said that those who follow their dreams make it big in life. Ideally there are role models but role models are just the inspirations. Your hard work, Firmness, steadiness and consistency pays you in future" he added. The programme rose to a Final Crescendo with the Grand Finale with the lighting of Candles by the students as a symbol of learning and taking a step for word to illuminate the world around with their knowledge and goodness. The day ended in a beautiful resonance with vote of thanks and the national anthem, lingering in everybody's minds. The entire programme was applauded by everybody present and will always remain etched in the memory of one and all. Thus, making it on Unforgettable journey of emotions with Tom Alter.
