GRANDILOQUENT CELEBRATION OF CULTURAL DIVERSITY

Birla Shishu Vihar added one more feather in its cap after the successful completion of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ event. The objective of the event was to promote the spirit of national integration through deep and structured engagement between the schools of two states, Assam and Rajasthan.20 students of Sanskriti, The Gurukul, Guwahati along with their two teachers Mrs. Sumitra Sarathy and Miss Ankita Das visited BSV ,Pilani from 17 to 21 April 2018 for an exchange programme. The opening ceremony ‘Prologue’ was graced with the presence of the guest of honor Mr Dinesh Kumar Yadav (IAS) collector and district magistrate ,Jhunjhunu and other top dignitaries of Birla Education Trust and BITS Pilani. A remarkable folk-dance performance and solo songs by both the schools enthralled the onlookers. On 20 th April BSV Haat was inaugurated by the chief guest Prof.Sauvik Bhattacharya, Vice Chancellor, BITS, Pilani where one could have glimpse of art ,music, literature and cuisine of Assam and Rajasthan. The gaily decorated venue added lustre and excitement to whole event. The celebration was concluded with Valedictory Ceremony on 21 April ,2018. The chief guest was Major General S.S. Nair AVSM (Retd.)Director Birla Education Trust ,Pilani. The programme commenced with the valedictory address by the Principal of BSV,Mr Pavan Vashishtha .Thereafter began the cultural extravaganza comprising of scintillating dance performances by the students of both the schools cladded in vibrant costumes followed by the distribution of certificates to the participants of BSV Haat. Mementos were also presented to the teachers escorting the student delegates from Sanskriti, The Gurukul . This three days exchange programme was a grand success and held the audience captive and left indelible mark on them and was worth watching.
